THE C.L.A.N.
I’m tired of not wanting to excel
I’m tired of not being compelled to speak my mind
And act off emotion, because other folks take lightly of this notion
I'm tired,
I’m tired of justifying myself to people who will never understand
So all you need to know right now is that I am Man
Not Black, Not educated,  just pure adulterated Man.
Cause I’ve been raised by the C.L.A.N.
Color Lacking Acting Negroes, acknowledging a world of equal nots
The not haves, the not gone get
The not knowing and the not its
But oh so quick to take in all the bull
Each and every particle the ignorant spits
Mind elevation has no part in this domain
I radiate my stupification just to remain sane
This is my haven, my bliss
To come to this foresight has been endearing as my first kiss.
My brethren of the C.A.N. search for a change
But I wish to hold my position
in this sedimentary class of the caste system
in which I’m living
the fashion in which I operate
condones my actions to be appropriate
keeps me comfortable in a more adhesive atmosphere
that I can relate to,
so do not look at me subdued in a spectacle of why.
Because I told you,
I’ve been raised by the C.L.A.N.
Color Lacking Acting Negroes
Acknowledging a world of equal nots
So you may look at me and call me obscenities that don’t even infuriate me
But before you baffle yourself with mysteries of me I’ll tell you,
I am ignorance in action; I am the way of life given to impropriety
I am loved by digression and hated with an obsession that holds no discretion for the color of my flesh at all.
My form is known worldwide, through unspoken words, half taught history and misled culture
I’ve handicapped my ancestors and brethren with a self-inflicted torture
But ITS NOT, NOT KNOWING, THATS NOT GONE GET ME TO NOT HAVE
Society’s incapable of filtering the past
So if you can not think of my P.I.N.
This personally identified nomenclature that describes my nature,
Read this again, and alas if you cannot figure
Just refer to me as “The Nigger”
Like I told you,
I’ve been raised by the C.L.A.N.
Color Lacking Acting Negroes
Acknowledging a world of equal nots
The not haves, the not gone get
The not knowing and the not its.
